In the past few years, environmental pollution has reached a critical point and the worst part about it is that the issues never seem to stop, with more and more people feeling the consequences on a daily basis. Our planet is warming constantly, finding clean water is harder and harder each day, not to mention that it’s very difficult to have a healthy lifestyle when you have to deal with pollution. These are only a few of the many issues that pertain to the environment and some of them do start from the little things such as water bottles.

How can water bottles affect the environment?

Disposable water bottles will never biodegrade once you throw them and that means they will stay in oceans and seas for a very long time. If you don’t recycle them and you just throw these bottles, chances are that they will end up in the oceans as well. The problem here is that a combination of water and light rays from the sun will degrade the bottles, yet some tiny pieces will remain after the process is completed.

These include many of the harmful chemicals that are used to create plastic and these end up in the stomach of most marine life.

If these type of fish end up in our stomach, then these nasty chemicals will also be ingested by us as well. So, by throwing water bottles away instead of using a reusable water bottle for example or recycling them, we end up harming the environment beyond repair. Unfortunately, these harmful things don’t stop here.

Water bottles are created in petrochemical plants and these release harmful air contaminants. These are hurting the environment tremendously because they tend to run 24/7 in order to cope with the increasing demand. Even if the environment will try to alleviate the harm thanks to plants that try to grab these chemicals from the air, the end result will still be very bad.

One of the many chemicals you can find in water bottles is Bisphenol A, also known as BPA. This is a compound that actually imitates body hormones and the bad thing about it is that it can lead to many issues like prostate cancer, breast cancer, a low sperm count and many other issues.

Thankfully, there are solutions we can try in this regard and it all comes down to how much we want to work and fight in order to have a clean earth for next generations to come. One of them comes from getting a reusable water bottle and create a healthy lifestyle that includes less pollution and a focus on clean water. No one wants to live on a dirty, filthy planet and this definitely doesn’t pave the way for a healthier Earth down the way.

It all comes down to us to protect our planet and we need to work really hard in order to achieve those results. It won’t be easy at all, but remember that even something simple like using reusable water bottles can change our life. Embrace a healthy lifestyle and protect the environment, we will all benefit from that!
